Since the movie was coming out I decided to read this to my children (10&5) even though my 10 yr old is a boy he could identify really well with Beezus and there are lots of times Ramona did exact things my 5 yr old has done we had to laugh we just finished this book the other night and I immediately got back on to order the rest of the Ramona books I can't wait till they arrive so we can start on Ramona the pest!
One of the best books on tape for all ages and great for loooong car trips!
wonderful book series. My 5 year old daughter has loved it. her vocabulary has expanded dramatically and she has become more open about how she's feeling.
A great friend of mine has been reading this book to her 2 year old son... one chapter per night. She told me that he begs her to read another chapter each and every night. That has to say something, right? I remember these books from when I was a bit younger and always liked them. Can't wait to start reading it to my daughter. She is a little under a year old, so I will wait a little while. )
This book I read in elementary school and again recently. Loved it then. Love it now. I recommend this especially for children with younger siblings. The lesson of the people we love annoying us and it does not mean we don't love them is good. Parents be trusting of this author.
Bought for my Granddaughter. She is into chapter books now. I read "Ramona Grimby, Age 8" to see if the book would be something she would like. The "Ramona" books are well written and my Granddaughter (age 7) I felt would enjoy them. I got "Beezus and Ramona" because it was the first book written in the Ramona series. She thought she would like it after looking through it.
Given as a gift to a child and greatly enjoyed. This classic by Beverly Cleary is as much fun and funny as it has always been since it was first written. My experience as a retired teachert is that this is a book enjoyed by kids because the situations in the story are similar to their own, even over many years. This is a wonderful first book of the series of Ramona books, and Fudge books that is an all time favorite series.
